AI Strategy & Enablement Lead
Job Background
Perseus is seeking an AI Strategy & Enablement Lead to spearhead the strategy, education, and enablement of artificial intelligence initiatives across our portfolio of vertical software businesses. This role will sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and execution – helping translate rapidly evolving AI capabilities into practical outcomes for individual business units.
The ideal candidate will act as a central force multiplier for AI adoption at Perseus: develop centrally tracked success metrics, educate leaders, and coach business unit teams to move AI initiatives from idea to execution. This role is designed for a commercially minded operator who understands the impact of AI on vertical-market software businesses.
Key Responsibilities
1) Portfolio AI Strategy & Governance
- Define and maintain the Perseus‑level AI business transformation strategy, aligned to portfolio priorities and financial outcomes.
- Establish clear, standardized KPIs and success metrics for AI adoption and impact; track and report progress across businesses on a regular basis.
- Identify cross‑portfolio themes, risks, and opportunities to enable best-practice sharing and inform prioritization and leadership decision‑making.
2) AI Education & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain a current, practical understanding of AI trends, tools, and use cases relevant to vertical market software and our operating models.
- Curate and distribute AI content across Perseus (e.g., case studies, internal examples, podcasts, articles) focused on business relevance and outcomes.
- Build and sustain a community of best practices by facilitating knowledge sharing across businesses.
- Lead regular learning sessions where teams share AI use cases, lessons learned, and applied examples that others can replicate or adapt.
3) Business Unit Impact & Execution Support
- Partner with ~5 businesses per quarter to review, prioritize, plan, and support the execution of AI initiatives, spanning both i) internal productivity and efficiency improvements, and ii) customer-facing and revenue-generating opportunities. This would include developing a roadmap from idea to impact, objectives, milestones, and success criteria.
- Act as a hands‑on advisor to BU and Portfolio leadership, providing practical guidance on AI opportunity selection, scoping, sequencing, and execution.
- Serve as a central point of support for AI‑related problem-solving and decision‑making across the portfolio.
4) Vendor & Partner Management
- Engage with external AI vendors, implementation partners, and ecosystem participants to support learning, experimentation, and execution.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with AI technology providers as needed to support business objectives.
- Organize and facilitate targeted workshops, forums, and sprints between internal teams and external partners to address specific business problems.
Qualifications
- Strong commercial background with 7+ years of experience in software, technology‑enabled businesses, management consulting, or a similar environment.
- Experience with developing a broader AI mandate and developing key success measures to hold leaders accountable.
- Proven ability to identify and prioritize AI use cases based on business impact, commercial and technical feasibility, and ROI, rather than technical novelty.
- Able to provide clear direction and coaching to technical teams, translating business objectives into concrete steps to develop AI initiatives.
- Strong understanding of up-to-date AI / ML approaches, capabilities, and limitations, as they relate to software businesses and their operations.
- Demonstrated AI thought leadership, whether through prior roles, writing, presentations, or hands‑on initiative ownership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain AI concepts in practical business terms.
- Highly pragmatic, action‑oriented, and comfortable operating in ambiguity – able to move initiatives forward even when the path is not fully defined.
- Prior experience working with senior business leaders on strategy, execution, or transformation initiatives is a strong asset.
- An advanced degree (i.e., MBA or Master's focused on technology strategy, innovation, digital transformation, etc.) is a strong asset.
