We are currently hiring a full time 18 month contract Payments Sup port Associate to support our London Administration team. This job posting is for a newly created position.
The Payments Support Associate is responsible for managing financial transactions, including clearing activities and electronic settlements, while ensuring compliance with FINTRAC and Payments Canada regulations. This role requires expertise in processing incoming and outgoing wire transfers, reconciling accounts, and mitigating risks to maintain the accuracy and efficiency of payment operations. The Payments Support Associate also provides expert guidance and support to branches and Business Owners, addressing payment-related inquiries with precision. A strong focus on continuous improvement, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills, is essential for optimizing payment systems and driving operational effectiveness.
The base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, education/training and internal equity. Our compensation practices are equitable and transparent, and support progression through the salary range as employees grow in the role.
This role is a n 1 8 - month contract ending October 2027 .
The Role
- Process and post routine and non-routine financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Investigate and resolve both complex and non-complex errors by leveraging various resources such as Ovation, CRM, and established procedures, while applying sound judgment to identify the most effective solutions and prioritize actions
- Conduct reconciliations of clearing transactions to ensure accuracy and integrity, with thorough follow-up to address any discrepancies
- Process daily settlements, ensuring transactions are completed within established deadlines.
- Process Payroll files for Owners efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and process clearing reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Process financial returns promptly to minimize financial risks
- Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers daily, ensuring compliance with policies, including FINTRAC requirements.
- Advise branch staff on best practices for resolving issues related to ATM and POS transaction settlements, ensuring thorough and accurate resolutions.
- Process and reconcile electronic settlements (ATM, POS, EMT, RDC, CRDC).
- Initiate and respond to trace requests from other financial institutions.
- Process DMC traces and chargebacks within Everlink’s required timeframe.
- Acts as the first line of defense by monitoring transactions for potential fraudulent or suspicious activity, promptly escalating issues for further investigation.
- Collaborate with Business Solutions and branch staff to facilitate the sale and setup of Commercial Remote Deposit Capture (CRDC) services for commercial owners.
What We’re Looking For
- Post-secondary degree or diploma with a focus on Business courses or Finance
- 1-3 years of experience in banking operations, financial transaction processing, or clearing administration preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial transaction processing, reconciliation, and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in payment systems, including wire transfers, clearing, and electronic settlements.
