Pay: CA$80,000.00 - CA$110,000.00 per year

Position Overview

Soneil Spark is a forward-thinking organization committed to innovation, quality, and engineering excellence. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis (office based role) . Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering, the Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects while working in a collaborative and dynamic workplace.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and document cable harnesses and wiring systems for EV charging products
- Develop from-to wire lists, harness formboard drawings, and wire cut sheets
- Select connectors, wire gauges, conduit, and protection components for high-voltage and signal circuits
- Design and review high-voltage systems including isolation, grounding, and protection schemes
- Design electronics hardware including control boards, power stage interfaces, and signal conditioning circuits
- Support PCB design and review: schematic capture, component selection, and design-for-manufacture
- Support battery system design: cell interconnects, BMS wiring, thermal management wiring, and pack-level integration
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (UL 2202, UL 9540, IEC 61851, NEC, UL 508A)
- Collaborate on EMC/shielding strategies for control signals and power wiring




- Support certification activities including UL, CSA, and CE submissions
- Create and maintain electrical BOMs, schematics, and test specifications
- Work with contract manufacturers and harness vendors during prototyping and production ramp

Required Skills & Experience

- 3–5 years of experience in electrical and electronics design, with a focus on power electronics or industrial systems
- Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (Zuken E3, Mentor Capital, or AutoCAD Electrical) and/or PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage design
- Experience in electronics hardware design: analog/digital circuits, microcontroller interfaces, or power conversion topologies
- Understanding of battery systems: Li-ion or LFP pack architecture, BMS interfaces, cell balancing wiring
- Strong knowledge of wiring standards: wire sizing, ampacity, derating, insulation ratings
- Experience with connector selection and crimp/termination specifications (TE, Amphenol, Molex, Phoenix Contact)
- Familiarity with UL, CSA, or IEC certification processes
- Ability to read and create multi-sheet electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

Nice to Have

- Experience in EVSE product development
- Knowledge of EV charging communication and control pilot circuits
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 familiarity
- Experience with UL 9540 / UL 9540A for BESS applications
- Exposure to IEC 62133 or UN38.3 for battery certification
- Embedded firmware awareness (C/C++, CAN, Modbus)
