Responsibilities:
- Provide planning, consulting, technical analysis, design, deployment, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, upgrades and daily support of middleware products.
General Skills:
- Experience with web and applications tier servers
- Experience with message brokers
- Experience with messaging services
- Experience with adapters
- Experience with development framework/technologies
- Experience in middleware software installation, configuration, tuning, system optimization and administration, as well as experience with application development
- Experience with change management and release management as processes supporting the implementation of large applications
- Experience with incident and problem management processes
- Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications
- Experience producing design artefacts, code, configurations, scripts, and test cases
- Ability to analyze the results from functional, security, load-and-stress testing and resolve reported issues
- Ability to analyze and solve data integrity, security, configuration and recovery issues
- Assess and test Change Requests (CRQ) with technical content and updating as necessary
- Ability to participate in release promotions/implementations
- Experience with middleware and gateways
- Experience on application monitoring and support
- Experience with Dev Ops tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops, or others.
- Experience Building and maintaining automated pipelines for build, test, and deployment
- Experience building and deploying containers and workload orchestration platform
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud provider platform deploying and managing cloud-native applications and services
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
- Knowledge of portal services
- Knowledge of GO-PKI Security or similar public/private key Infrastructure
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
- Experience conducting system and application monitoring and performance and data integrity in accordance with ITIL standards

Requirements
Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
Must have:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in middleware/integration technologies in complex enterprise environments
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting integration solutions using middleware platforms
- Deep understanding of system integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, REST, SOAP, event-driven, messaging)
- Expertise in middleware platforms such as IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Web Sphere, Mule Soft, Azure Integration Services, or similar ESBs
- Experience with API Gateway and Management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect, Azure APIM)
Skill Set Requirements:
Core Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in middleware/integration technologies in complex enterprise environments
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting integration solutions using middleware platforms
- Deep understanding of system integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, REST, SOAP, event-driven, messaging)
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting across multiple systems and layers (application, middleware, infrastructure)
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems with high availability and performance requirements
Technical Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in middleware platforms such as IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Web Sphere, Mule Soft, Azure Integration Services, or similar ESBs
- Experience with API Gateway and Management platforms (e.g., IBM API Connect, Azure APIM)
- Proficiency in working with messaging and event platforms (e.g., MQ, Kafka, JMS, Event Grid)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid integration scenarios
- Knowledge of security protocols and integration (OAuth2.0, SAML, mutual TLS, API keys)
- Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as Share Point, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Siebel, Curam, or other COTS solutions
- Hands-on experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform) for middleware deployment and operations
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices in integration environments
Communication and Documentation Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience developing clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation
- Ability to translate business integration needs into technical requirements and solution designs
- Solid collaboration skills, with a track record of working in cross-functional teams and leading technical discussions
