The Communications Assistant supports the Member of Parliament’s office in delivering clear, consistent, and engaging communications to constituents and the public. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with solid writing skills, creativity, and an interest in public service, media, and digital communications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in managing and updating social media accounts (e.g., drafting posts, scheduling content, monitoring engagement)
- Support the creation of communications materials, including newsletters, posters, graphics, and advertisements
- Draft and edit written content such as website updates, and constituent communications, mailers and householders
- Monitor media coverage and prepare daily or weekly media summaries
- Help maintain the office’s website and digital platforms
- Respond to basic public inquiries and direct communications appropriately
- Assist in planning and promoting events, announcements, and community outreach initiatives
- Ensure all communications align with parliamentary guidelines and the Member’s messaging





Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in communications, political science, journalism, public relations, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation
- Graphic design and video editing skills are mandatory
- Robust attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Interest in politics, public service, or community engagement

Assets:

- Experience managing social media accounts (personal, academic, or professional)
- Knowledge of current events and the political landscape

Working Conditions:

- Based in Constituency Office in Windsor, Ontario
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events
