IT Systems & Network Engineer (Infrastructure Support)

This role sits right between end-user support, systems admin, and network operations. You’re not siloed. You touch everything.

Role Details

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Work Model: Onsite (based on customer needs)

Type: Permanent / Direct Hire

You’ll be the go-to for day-to-day stability across systems, networks, and user environments.

This includes:

Resolving real-time issues

Keeping infrastructure healthy

Fixing recurring problems at the root (not patching symptoms)

Environment

Ops-heavy, support-driven setting

Mix of on-prem + cloud (M365 / Azure / AWS)

Direct interaction with users, vendors, and internal teams

Structured change control and operational processes

What this role actually owns day-to-day

Handling incidents across devices, servers, and network connectivity

Managing AD, DNS, DHCP, and core services

Supporting Wi-Fi, endpoint issues, and access problems

Running patching, backups, monitoring, and maintenance

Working tickets end-to-end — not passing them around

Key Responsibilities





Troubleshoot system, network, and application access issues across users and infrastructure

Support Windows/Linux servers + core services (AD, DNS, DHCP, file/print)

Resolve Wi-Fi and connectivity issues across environments

Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and stabilize performance

Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement permanent fixes

Execute changes to infrastructure with proper validation and rollback planning

Work with vendors (ISP, cloud, hardware) to resolve escalations

Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles

Deploy and configure endpoints (laptops, PCs, peripherals)

Support cloud workloads across Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS

Must-Have Requirements

Hands-on experience with Windows or Linux server administration

Strong troubleshooting across network + systems + end-user issues

Experience with AD, DNS, DHCP

Exposure to cloud platforms (M365 / Azure / AWS)

Proven ability to handle incident resolution in live environments

Experience working in support-driven or operations environments
