Position Overview

Torus Talent is supporting a growing engineering consultancy in their search for a Civil / Structural Engineer to join their Prince George-based team.

This is a growth-oriented chance offering exposure to a diverse mix of structural engineering projects across industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. The role provides a strong balance between office-based design work and field exposure, allowing the successful candidate to develop into a well-rounded consulting engineer.

You will work closely with senior engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to support structural design, project coordination, and construction execution. This role is well suited to someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a collaborative team environment.

Further Responsibilities Include the Following

• Support structural design across steel, concrete, and wood-frame structures

• Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and design development

• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports

• Conduct field reviews, site inspections, and provide in office support to trades and contractors

• Produce field reports and verify measurements during construction

• Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and documentation

• Contribute to project budgeting and cost tracking

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams





• Support compliance with applicable codes, standards, and professional requirements

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

• 2+ years of structural engineering experience

• EIT or P. Eng. designation (or working towards)

• Experience designing steel, concrete, and/or wood-frame structures

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work both independently and within a team setting

• Strong communication and client-facing skills

• Comfortable working in both office and field environments

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and structural analysis software
