Senior Director Operations

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading global industrial manufacturer to appoint a Senior Plant Manager to lead a critical and growing operation in the Greater Vancouver area.

This is a high-impact leadership role with full ownership of a multi-site manufacturing operation (~400 employees), supporting a rapidly scaling business unit delivering engineered, project-based products into the power generation and industrial sectors.

The mandate is clear: stabilize, scale, and professionalize operations—bringing structure, accountability, and operational excellence to a business transitioning to the next phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full responsibility for site performance across operations, engineering, EHS, quality, and finance, with a strong focus on:

- Leading and developing a cross-functional leadership team across two manufacturing sites
- Driving operational excellence through Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Scaling production capability in a high-mix, engineer-to-order (ETO) workplace
- Implementing structure, KPIs, and performance discipline across the operation
- Owning site-level financial performance, including cost management and Cap Ex planning
- Leading cultural transformation—building accountability, engagement, and leadership capability




- Partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver on growth and strategic objectives

The Candidate

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded operations leader who has successfully led and scaled complex manufacturing operations.

Key requirements:

- Proven experience as a Plant Manager, Site Leader, or senior operations leader with full P&L; responsibility
- Background in engineered-to-order (ETO), project-based, or high-mix manufacturing environments
- Experience leading operations within industrial, electrical, power systems, aerospace, or custom manufacturing sectors
- Demonstrated success in scaling operations, implementing structure, and driving cultural change
- Strong understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement and operational best practices
- Track record of leading multi-functional teams across operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience managing large site budgets
