Position Overview
Reporting to the Controller, the Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s credit risk and accounts receivable exposure while supporting sustainable business growth.
This role manages the full credit lifecycle, including customer credit evaluation, credit approvals, project-based risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring of payment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer credit applications and determine appropriate credit limits, payment terms, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct credit analysis using financial statements, credit reports, trade references, and internal payment history.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, payment performance, and overall credit exposure to minimize risk and protect cash flow.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure credit decisions align with company policies and contractual terms.
- Manage credit holds, shipment releases, and account reviews while identifying and addressing potential credit risks.
- Support collections strategy, recovery efforts, and reporting on higher-risk accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in credit, accounts receivable, finance, or risk management.
- Robust financial analysis and credit risk assessment skills.
- Experience managing credit limits, payment terms, and accounts receivable performance metrics.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Professional credit designation (e.g., CCP, CBA/CBF/CCE) considered an asset.
