Changes On The Fly is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled, hands-on Head Mechanic / Shop Lead to take ownership of our shop operations while helping develop the next generation of technicians.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring others, and takes pride in running an efficient, high-performing shop.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day operations in a busy shop environment
- Support mobile service operations as needed
- Oversee workflow, scheduling, and shop efficiency
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles with confidence and accuracy
- Train, mentor, and develop both junior and experienced technicians
- Build and manage a structured apprenticeship program
- Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve processes and output
What We’re Looking For
- Strong diagnostic and repair experience across a variety of vehicles
- Proven experience managing or leading a busy shop
- Experience developing and running apprenticeship or training programs
- Ability to coach and elevate both new and experienced technicians
- Solid understanding of shop workflow, productivity,
and efficiency metrics
- Comfortable balancing hands-on work with leadership responsibilities
- Adaptable and solution-oriented mindset
- Valid driver’s license
What We Offer
- $85,000 – $105,000 annual salary (based on experience)
