Role: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Toronto (1 day/week in office)

Type: Full-time | Permanent

Comp: $170-210k base, plus bonus and perks

A fast-growing AI software company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Toronto to help build the core backend systems powering an enterprise AI management platform used in highly regulated environments. The business has strong traction, major enterprise customers, and a growing engineering team scaling quickly in Toronto.

This is a backend-heavy senior role focused on distributed systems, integrations, data platforms, and production AI infrastructure. You’ll work on core platform components while helping shape architecture, engineering standards, and future product capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and scale backend systems including APIs, integrations, data pipelines, and core platform services

• Own technical design decisions across scalability, reliability, privacy, and security

• Build new capabilities around AI monitoring, governance, lifecycle management, and operational tooling

• Partner with product, infrastructure,



ML, and security teams to ship production systems

• Break down ambiguous product problems into practical technical solutions

• Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years building backend systems in production environments

• Strong experience with distributed systems, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with Java / Spring Boot, or equivalent stacks such as Go / Python

• Strong system design and architecture fundamentals

• Startup mindset with ability to operate independently

• Experience in AI products, healthcare, fintech, or regulated environments is a plus
