About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Developer to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto. This role focuses on designing and delivering advanced AI-driven solutions, leveraging modern Machine Learning (ML) techniques and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will play a key role in building scalable, production-grade systems that integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, including LLM-based applications.
- Build and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Framework.
- Integrate AI/ML solutions into enterprise-grade applications and workflows.
- Fine-tune and optimize Large Language Models for domain-specific use cases.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop APIs and microservices to expose AI capabilities.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of AI systems in production.
- Stay up to date with advancements in AI, ML, and LLM ecosystems.





Required Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on AI/ML.
- Proven experience working with Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, open-source LLMs).
- Robust programming skills in Java.
- Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Microservices).
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or similar).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector databases.
- Experience deploying AI models into production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with generative AI applications and NLP.
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools.
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Background in data engineering or big data technologies.
