Position Title: Energy and Carbon Management Lead

Location: Western Canada, remote with regional travel

Reports To: Director, Operations

Role Overview

Aladaco Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Energy and Carbon Management Lead to support and grow our work across Western Canada. This is a client-facing role for an engineer who combines strong technical capability with project leadership and client management skills.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of energy and carbon management services for clients across the industrial, institutional, municipal, and commercial sectors. The role includes managing projects from initiation through delivery, conducting and overseeing technical work, engaging directly with clients and stakeholders, and supporting the development of new opportunities in the region.

This position is well suited to someone who enjoys variety in their work, is comfortable working independently, and wants to remain hands-on in technical delivery while taking ownership of project outcomes and client relationships.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will:

- Lead the successful delivery of energy and carbon management projects across Western Canada
- Build trusted relationships with clients, utilities, and project stakeholders
- Independently complete or direct high-quality technical analysis and reporting
- Manage multiple projects, schedules, budgets, and deliverables with minimal oversight
- Support the continued growth of Aladaco’s presence and client base in Western Canada

Key Responsibilities

Client and Project Leadership

- Lead delivery of energy and carbon management projects and program-based initiatives across multiple client sectors
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables across concurrent assignments
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, utilities, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate internal team members and external partners to support successful project delivery
- Facilitate client meetings, technical workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Support proposal development, including scope definition, technical approach, and level-of-effort estimates

Technical Delivery

- Conduct energy audits, facility assessments, and system-level reviews
- Analyse mechanical, electrical,



and process systems to identify energy conservation and decarbonization opportunities
- Lead or support energy management assessments, decarbonization planning, pathway development, baselining, and performance tracking
- Contribute to greenhouse gas inventories, carbon management plans, and related strategies
- Support conceptual and preliminary design development for energy-related projects, where applicable
- Prepare technical reports, business cases, and client presentations
- Analyse utility and energy data and support measurement and verification activities

Ongoing Energy and Carbon Management Support

- Support clients with ongoing energy and carbon management activities, including KPI tracking, performance monitoring, and implementation planning
- Work with client teams to identify, prioritize, and advance practical energy initiatives
- Track and report energy, cost, and greenhouse gas impacts for projects and programs
- Prepare explicit progress updates for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

Required

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer designation with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), or eligibility to obtain registration immediately upon commencing employment with Aladaco
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in energy management, energy consulting, decarbonization, or a related field
- Permanent residence located in the Lower Mainland Region of British Columbia
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Qualified (CMVP), or similar designation
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing client relationships
- Strong technical capability, with the ability to independently complete analysis and develop practical recommendations
- Experience delivering ASHRAE energy audits, DSM programs,



climate action plans, decarbonization plans, or strategic energy management services
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting and client-facing presentations

Preferred

- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- Experience with energy modelling, simulation, or analytical tools such as RETScreen, eQUEST, Energy Plus, or similar platforms
- Experience working with multi-site organizations or portfolio-based initiatives
- Familiarity with utility programs, incentive funding mechanisms, and regional energy markets in Western Canada
