The Role
We’re hiring a tech-oriented Accounting Systems Specialist who understands accounting fundamentals and thrives on solving system problems.
This role sits at the intersection of ecommerce operations, integrated apps, and Quick Books Online. You’ll troubleshoot sync issues, investigate discrepancies (especially in clearing accounts), support bank feed connections, and help ensure our clients’ data flows cleanly from platforms like Shopify/Amazon into QBO through integration tools.

Qualifications
- Strong technical troubleshooting mindset (you enjoy diagnosing systems, not just processing transactions).
- Working understanding of bookkeeping/accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, balance sheet vs P&L;).
- Strong understanding of clearing accounts and how they’re used in ecommerce accounting.
- Confidence investigating discrepancies across multiple systems (QBO + integration app + ecommerce platform).
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online, including bank feeds (connecting, reconnecting, troubleshooting).
- Strong communication skills in English (clear written notes and transparent explanations).
You Might be the Perfect Candidate if you have
- Experience with ecommerce accounting workflows (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, Pay Pal, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Bookkeep, A2X, MyWorks, Quick Books Connector, or similar syncing tools.
- IT background or systems experience (helpdesk, admin, integrations, automations, APIs, data troubleshooting).
- Experience documenting SOPs and improving processes after resolving issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot issues in ecommerce → QBO integrations (sync errors, mapping problems, timing issues, payout alignment, etc.).
- Identify and resolve clearing account discrepancies by tracing data through systems and isolating root causes.
- Validate data flows: orders → payouts → deposits → fees → taxes → journal entries.
- Support QBO bank feed troubleshooting (connection failures, duplicates, missing transactions, reconnects).
- Review integration settings, mapping rules, and account selections to ensure correct posting logic.
- Write clear internal documentation: issue summary, root cause, resolution steps, and prevention notes.
- Collaborate with accounting team members to ensure fixes align with proper accounting treatment.
- Flag systemic problems and recommend improvements to prevent repeat issues.
