Position Summary:
Are you interested in leading an exciting academic support program with a robust track record of helping young Canadians excel in school? Does the idea of joining one of Canada's most respected charities excite you? Do you have solid project management experience and the ability to meet clear goals and objectives? If so, we invite you to apply to become the next Senior Program Manager, responsible for the Licensed to Learn (L2L) program.
Reporting to the Director of Global Programs and Social Impact, the Senior Program Manager will oversee and execute the L2L program in schools across Canada. L2L is a free tutoring program in which high-achieving students volunteer to tutor and mentor peers struggling academically. The program is delivered at no cost to students or their families. L2L's model ensures that students receive support from tutors within the same school who are familiar with the course material. The program creates pathways for both academic and professional success.
- Managing the implementation of L2L programs in both primary and secondary schools
- Overseeing and supporting more than 15 trainers responsible for tutor training workshops and program delivery
- Incorporating monitoring and evaluation (M&E;) data to identify areas for improvement and ensure programs remain responsive to the evolving needs of youth
- Advancing L2L digitization through new e-learning tools and databases, in collaboration with external stakeholders
- Developing innovative strategies to deliver academic support that is engaging and adaptable to the fast-paced changes in education
- Managing program finances, including drafting itemized budgets and reviewing expense reports submitted by trainers and volunteers
- Leading community engagement and maintaining strong relationships with key partners, including school boards, primary and secondary schools, educational consultants, and local charities
- Developing new partnerships to expand L2L's reach and overall impact
Qualifications & Competencies
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of project management experience, preferably in the non-profit sector. Knowledge of Canada's education system and familiarity with modern learning tools are considered strong assets.
