Duties
The general responsibilities of the advertised position include the protected inshore and offshore operation of boats, shellfish sampling and sample submission under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations, and conducting survey work and sample collection.
Conditions of Employment
Applicants must adhere to CFIA code of conduct, conflict of interest and post employment policy, values and ethics code for the public sector, and have legal status to accept employment for the entire period. They should be willing to travel, work irregular hours, shift work, and overtime as required, and use prescribed safety equipment.
Essential Education
Completion of post secondary education specializing in relevant technical sciences. CFIA operations may prefer a university degree with a specialization related to the functions of the position.
Essential Experience
- Experience in inspection of food or application of food science or other relevant experience in the agri food industry.
- Experience operating boats.
English essential - applicants may participate in the staffing process in the official language of their choice.
