Roles & Responsibilities:

Functional Design & Modernization -

- Lead the definition of target-state functional capabilities for ClientLink
- Develop:

1. Functional specifications
2. Use cases and user journeys
3. User stories with clear acceptance criteria

- Translate legacy system behavior into contemporary, modular, and scalable designs
- Define business rules, data flows, and system interactions
- Identify gaps between current-state legacy ClientLink and future-state modernized architecture

Data & System Analysis -

- Analyze and validate end-to-end flows for transactions, positions, valuations, and performance
- Perform hands-on SQL analysis for data reconciliation, validation, and issue investigation
- Trace and validate data lineage across:

1. Upstream systems (e.g., security master, transaction feeds)
2. ClientLink processing (batch engines, financial calculations)
3. Downstream consumers (reporting platforms and external applications)

System Design & Integration -

- Define and document API contracts, including payload-based and file-based integrations
- Document batch, real-time, and event-driven processing flows
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to ensure scalable, modernization-aligned designs
- Identify failure points, edge cases, and data integrity risks

Production Insight & Problem Solving -

- Incorporate production realities and known system constraints into functional designs
- Support root cause analysis to validate assumptions and strengthen future-state architecture

Business & Domain Alignment -





- Partner closely with business stakeholders to define requirements aligned with portfolio management workflows
- Ensure outputs align with financial expectations including positions, valuations, performance, and reporting needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Core Technical Skills -

- Strong SQL and hands-on data analysis experience
- Expertise in functional specifications, data mappings, and system flow documentation
- Experience with APIs, batch processing, and cross-system integrations

Functional Design Expertise -

- Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear functional designs
- Strong experience creating consumable documentation for engineering teams
- Hands-on experience in modernization or transformation initiatives, particularly legacy-to-modern transitions

Domain Knowledge -

- Wealth management or capital markets experience
- Strong understanding of portfolio management concepts:

1. Positions vs. transactions
2. Valuation and performance calculations

System Thinking -

- Ability to decompose complex financial systems into manageable functional components
- Comfortable working across multiple integrated platforms and stakeholders

Experience -

- 5+ years of experience as a Business System Analyst / Technical Business Analyst / System Analyst
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms and cross-system integrations
- Prior participation in modernization or transformation programs strongly preferred

Nice-to-have:

- Experience working across Agile and Waterfall project methodologies
