We are looking for a highly skilled Education Program Manager to join our team. This key role will focus on overseeing the development, enhancement, and continuous improvement of electronic security education programs in collaboration with education facilities and other educational institutions across Canada.
Position Overview: As the Education Program Manager, you will provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance in shaping electronic security education programs. This role ensures that curricula, accreditation standards, and training resources align with industry standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with both academic institutions and the electronic security industry, you will bridge the gap to ensure graduates are fully equipped to meet the evolving workforce demands.
Key Responsibilities: Industry Alignment & Standards: Advise on current industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies, including video, access control, intrusion systems, AI, and cybersecurity.
Curriculum Oversight: Lead the design and development of curriculum, reviewing course outlines, learning outcomes, and assessment methodologies ensure content provided that aligns with industry needs. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain robust relationships with educational institutions, security integrators, equipment manufacturers, and other industry partners.
Accreditation Framework:
Support the development and implementation of an industry-recognized accreditation framework, defining certification pathways and continuing
education opportunities.
Program Resource Development: Recommend training resources, lab equipment, and industry-standard tools. Coordinate with industry partners for guest instructors, speakers, and sponsorships.
Quality Assurance & Evaluation: Monitor program performance through pilot reviews, student evaluations, and workforce feedback, ensuring continuous improvement.
Marketing & Advocacy: Promote the value of accredited programs within the industry, advocating for the recognition of program graduates by employers.
Qualifications: Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the electronic security industry with a strong understanding of security technologies (video, access control, intrusion detection).
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Canadian industry standards (ULC) and applicable regulatory frameworks within each Province or Territories.
Project Program Management: Experience in designing, advising, or delivering educational programs or certifications is an asset.
Professional Network: Strong network within the electronic security industry, including relationships with integrators, manufacturers, and consultants.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies: Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze industry trends and regulatory changes to shape educational programs.
Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of engaging with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
Curriculum Advisory: Expertise in advising on and developing training programs, including creating relevant content and assessment frameworks.
Emerging Technologies: Strong understanding of the latest trends and innovations in electronic security, including AI and cloud-based solutions.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to assess program outcomes and recommend adjustments for continuous improvement.
