Join a vital role as a Counsellor focused on newcomer support. You'll provide essential counseling and initial assessments to families and individuals facing settlement challenges. In this full time role, you will work closely with clients to identify their needs and create personalized case plans. Your contributions will ensure access to vital resources and settlement services, as well as advocacy with partner social service agencies. Crisis intervention expertise will be critical in this impactful position. Key Responsibilities: • Perform needs assessments for clients • Coordinate crisis intervention and supportive counseling • Advocate with social service organizations • Provide essential information on settlement options • Document and report client interactions Requirements: • Diploma in Social Services or relevant experience • At least 12 months in case management or counseling • Strong crisis intervention skills • Multilingual ability is a plus (Spanish, Tirgirna, Amharic) • Certification in First Aid/CPR and Naloxone required Utilize your skills in social services to empower clients in their journey towards stability and support within the community.
