Description of Work Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in 1915 Health Services Way- Wake County with the Department of Health and Human Services. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $40.89 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Management Preferences: This role will support I/DD, TBI, and Olmstead section initiatives such as Inclusion Connects and Inclusion Works. The IDD Consultant will focus on housing, employment, and community living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is critical in advancing inclusive housing solutions and supporting policy development that aligns with best practices and legal standards.



This person will serve as a subject matter expert on housing options and community living, including those specific and nonspecific to individuals with IDD. Key responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external partners on barriers to community living and employment, promoting integrated and community-based solutions, and analyzing and interpreting regulations, polices, and funding mechanisms for individuals with IDD.
