To support our growing North American team and diverse project portfolio, we are looking for a Senior BIM Specialist / BIM Manager to join us and work alongside our customers on some of North America’s most significant projects. In this role you will be working closely with our established network of technical leaders and engineers to manage and oversee the output of project BIM teams and to further develop our established in-house BIM expertise. Your primary task will be directing our team and providing Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise and leadership on numerous bridge, marine, heavy civil and tunnel design projects from inception through to construction services and close-out.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Undertake activities within projects calling for a wide-ranging insight into BIM.
- Lead project teams of BIM specialists through generation of all CAD/BIM project deliverables for highway structure, signature long-span bridge, tunnel and marine projects.
- Initiate BIM kickoff gatherings and create BIM execution strategies at the project's outset.
- Create and own the multidisciplinary spatial coordination responsibility for bridge, tunnel, and marine infrastructure projects in 3D, considering coordination with structural, architectural, MEP, and civil components.
- Develop technical talent, including the development and implementation of specialist training programs, identification of staff for advanced and/or specialized training, and mentoring of key staff in specialized areas of expertise.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with other BIM Technicians and Engineers, including coordination with sub-consultants.
- Implement and maintain production standards, quality consistency with the Company’s production and design standards, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency within the team.
- Plan and manage delivery to project schedules, including generating estimates of effort and proposal inputs.

On top of that, you will have:
- A degree or diploma in CAD/BIM technology from a recognized school or institution in addition to 15+ years relevant experience.
- Possess a minimum of five years' experience in BIM management and coordination roles within major, multidisciplinary infrastructure initiatives.
- Be familiar with modelling processes in different BIM design applications and interoperability with different tools.
- Have knowledge of pertinent BIM Standards, such as ISO 19650, as well as best practices for BIM workflows and information management.
- Proficiency with multiple design tools including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil3D, OpenRoads, OpenBuildings, Revit, Infraworks, Navisworks, visual programming tools such as Dynamo and Rhino.Inside.Revit, all considered an asset.
- Experience with BIM 4D and 5D modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise a team through project completion. Ability to assign work, coach, mentor and supervise all levels of CAD/BIM specialists.
- Good ability to take initiative in decision-making, with an awareness of when to draw on other’s experience and knowledge.
- Self-motivated, focused, and able to handle multiple tasks in an environment where plans evolve regularly.

Base compensation: $92,000 to $147,000 for the North Vancouver office only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set and/or location.
