Help children enhance their reading skills as a volunteer mentor. Contribute to one-on-one reading strategies through an impactful program, available both in-person and online.
This role is designed for dedicated volunteers passionate about supporting children’s literacy. You will provide tailored reading assistance to two elementary students, meeting each for 30 minutes twice a week over eight weeks. Training in effective reading methods and strategies is provided to ensure volunteers are well-equipped. The program runs across four terms: fall, winter, spring, and summer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support two elementary students with reading
• Conduct one-on-one sessions twice a week
• Attend a comprehensive training session
• Utilize provided resources throughout the program
• Ensure a consistent presence for students
Requirements:
• Must be age 18 or older
• Criminal Record Check required
• Minimum CLB 8 proficiency required
