Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Owner to take ownership of ourRewards &Pay; product line.These products will add to the operationalbackbone of ourexistingplatform, and it needs someone who understands how employersmanage rewardsand wages.

You’lldrive the product development lifecycle end-to-end: translating strategy into roadmaps, writing user stories, running sprints, and shipping features that make it easy for companies to offer modern compensation solutions to their employees.You’llwork directly with engineering, design, compliance, and customer-facing teams to build software that employees,administrators,and executive teams trust and enjoy using.

This is a ground-floor opportunity.You’llbe building out the product function alongside our CPO and shaping how Block Rewards delivers value to employers as we scale.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Planning

- Own theRewards & Payproduct roadmap, translating company strategy into prioritized epics, user stories, and release plans that maximize customer value.
- Define, track, and communicate product KPIs using data to inform priorities and measure the impact of whatweship.
- Balance strategic thinking with tactical execution to meet both near-term delivery goals and long-term product vision.
- Manage roadmap planning and execution through project management tools (Jira, Linear, or similar).

Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements

- Partner with subject-matter experts in payroll, benefits, rewards, HR, and compliance to capture requirements andvalidatesolutions.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, customer support, finance,



marketing, and sales.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the development team.Maintaining clear documentation of scope, timelines, and status.

Agile Product Development

- Co-lead thebacklog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectiveswith the engineering team leader
- Remove blockers and continuously improve team velocity and delivery processes.
- Oversee day-to-day product development from discovery through deployment and iteration.
- Manage creation and refinement of product requirement documents,leveragingAI tools to accelerate documentation, research synthesis, and competitive analysis.

Customer Focus & Research

- Champion customer insights by leading user research, beta programs, and feedback loops withbusiness owners,CFO/CHRO,HR& Payrolladministrators, etc.
- Transform customer behavior data, usability testing results, and market research into actionable product improvements.
- Serve as the voice of the employerand employerwithin the product development process,understanding the workflows, pain points, and compliance pressures that HR and payroll teams navigate daily.

Quality & Compliance

- Partner with Ops, compliance and legal to ensure products meet privacy, regulatory, security, and performance standardsrequiredin financial services and payroll environments.
- Collaborate with development teams using working knowledge of software development principles to translate product ideas into well-scoped, buildable work.
- Support project management activities and mentor product team members as the organization scales.

Qualifications





- 5+ years of product owner or product management experience with SaaS products, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior IC role.
- Proventrack recordshipping B2B SaaS products from concept to scale. Ideallypayroll, HR tech, benefits, earned wage access, or employee rewards.
- Deep understanding of agile product development methodologies and release management.
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams and remote collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills withthe abilityto translate data insights into explicit product recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiencywith Jira (or similar), project management tools, and modern collaboration platforms.
- Working knowledge of software development principles. (Enough to scope work effectively and speak the same language as engineers.)
- Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate product work(This couldincludedrafting user stories, synthesizing research, running competitive analysis, or building lightweight prototypes for validation)
- Ability to work from Kelowna, BC within Pacific Time Zone hours.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

- Domainexpertisein payroll processing, compensation management, earned wage access, or employee financial wellness.
- Experience building employer-facing admin tools, dashboards, or onboarding workflows for HR or finance teams.
- Experience scaling products in startup or high-growth environments.
- Knowledge of privacy, security, and regulatory requirements for financial software (Canadian andUS markets).
- Familiarity with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, or digital asset products.
- MBA or advanced business/technical degree.
