About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:
- Prepare rebar placement drawings based on plans and specifications.
- Ensure coordination between production, delivery, site installation, and the general contractor for projects under their responsibility.
- Upon contract signing by the sales department, receive tender drawings and construction drawings to verify if any changes have been made.
- Refer to their manager in case of changes resulting in additional costs.
- Communicate with the contractor once the plans are finalized to identify specific client needs and plan project execution.
- Using CAD (computer-aided design) software, produce shop drawings based on plans designed by the general contractor, then return them for approval.
- Make corrections based on the general contractor’s comments.
- After approval of shop drawings by the general contractor, produce bar lists for rebar fabrication, considering length, diameter, required bending, and type of steel.
- Send bar lists to the production planning department to initiate fabrication while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Maintain constant communication with the general contractor and site foremen.
- Manage changes, additions, and required modifications according to site directives.
- Attend coordination meetings with various project stakeholders.
- Prepare project close‑out documentation.
About You - The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum one year experience in detailing rebar.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (DEC), Architecture (DEC), or Building Drafting (DEP).
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Ability to visualize and imagine geometric shapes and objects in 3D (an asset).
