We are currently seeking competent individuals to fulfill the role of Data Analyst to join our dynamic team for our client, one of the major banks. Looking for DA with strong advanced SQL skills, Databricks experience, Power BI Premium, hands‑on experience in Microsoft Fabric

- Location Address: downtown Toronto Location (Hybrid, 3 days in the office per week)

Typical Day in Role:

- Develop advanced DAX measures and calculations to support complex business logic while maintaining optimal model performance.
- Ensure data availability and data quality in the semantic model and communicate issues to upstream throughout the development cycle.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Power BI semantic models, dataflows, and refresh processes, optimizing performance and reliability as needed.
- Implement enhancements, fixes, and change requests efficiently, adapting to evolving business requirements while maintaining solution stability.
- Create explicit and concise technical documentation covering data models, DAX logic, data sources, and reporting functionality to support knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance.





Candidate Requirements / Must Have Skills:

1. 5+ years’ overall relevant experience in data analysis
2. 5+ years’ experience advanced Power BI development expertise – with proven hands‑on experience building complex Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards, with a strong focus on performance and scalability (DAX, M language, data modeling, Premium capacities)
3. 5+ years’ experience with SQL and data querying proficiency – with a strong ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries against relational databases and data warehouses to support Power BI reporting needs (advanced querying, performance tuning, stored procedures).
4. 5+ years’ hands on experience using Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, KQL) and Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, notebooks, workflow orchestration).
5. 5+ years’ data modeling and DAX skills – with a deep understanding of analytical data modeling concepts and advanced DAX, including complex measures, time intelligence, and performance optimization techniques.

Nice‑To‑Have Skills:

- Security and access control knowledge - Practical experience implementing row-level security (RLS) and working within enterprise data security and governance standards.
- Experience from FI complex projects, ideally related to business banking credit risk (not retail credit risk)
