Community & Supportive Housing Coordinator – Full Time, Temporary Contract (8 weeks)

$18.00/hr

Contract Dates: Summer 202 6

Position Description: As the Community and Supportive Housing Coordinator , you will promote housing stability for marginalized individuals, supporting their health, wellness, and community belonging through recreational and community-building activities.

Location: Various sites in Hamilton, ON (McQuesten, Parkdale Landing, Strathearne Suites, Wentworth Program, King William )

Hours of Work: Full time, 35 hours per week. Flexibility is required to meet program needs, including evenings and weekends. This position is a temporary contract, ending after 8 weeks. *Position length and hours subject to approval by Service Canada.

What You Will Be Doing:

- Working as part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide direct and indirect support to individuals
- Reinforcing individuals’ life skills, spirituality, and social and community skills by supporting participation in cultural, spiritual, recreations, leisure, and social activities
- Arranging and coordinating aspects of recreational and community activities




- Documentation of events, including program planning, tracking of participants, evaluation of events
- Developing therapeutic relationships
- Household duties: cooking and cleaning, other duties as assigned
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment

What You Will Bring:

- Minimum High School Diploma. Priority given to those with post-secondary education in the social sciences and/or residential experience
- Commitment to promoting and demonstrating the vision, mission, and values of Indwell within the workplace and community
- A warm, sensitive and caring approach with a genuine interest in supporting people living with mental illness
- Ability to maintain valuable interpersonal relationships and work well independently
- Strong listening and problem-solving skills, flexibility, organization, responsibly, and initiative
- A current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at one's own cost

Canada Summer Jobs Eligibility Requirements:

- Be between the ages of 18-30 at start of employment
- Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be in possession of a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be available to work for the duration of the contract

Remuneration:



$18/hr; hours and position length subject to approval of Service Canada – Canada Summer Jobs.
