At Three Shores, we develop and manage high-quality real estate assets with a focus on long-term value and community connection. While we are a boutique team, we operate with institutional-grade financial standards. We believe that financial integrity is the backbone of a successful development firm.
We aren’t looking for a strategist who is above the ledger. We are looking for a precision-focused practitioner with big-firm chops who takes genuine pride in a 100% accurate set of books — and who wants the autonomy of a boutique environment to do that work on their own terms.
The Opportunity
This role is the engine room of our financial operations. You will own the full-cycle bookkeeping and reconciliation for our North Vancouver portfolio — a growing collection of purpose-built rental buildings approaching 200 units.
We have designed this position specifically for a high-calibre professional who wants a high-impact, low-hour engagement. Perhaps you are an ex-big-firm associate who values flexibility, a seasoned freelancer building a selective client roster, or a professional balancing other life commitments. Whatever your situation, this role gives you a professional home where your efficiency is respected and your precision is the standard.
You will have full autonomy over your workflow and your workday. The one non-negotiable: the books are always audit-ready.
Key Accountabilities
System & Ledger Integrity
– Own the digital flow and data sync between our banking platforms, QuickBooks Online, and Rent Manager
– Identify and resolve the root cause of every discrepancy — not just the symptom
– Proactively identify gaps in the tech-stack sync and implement solutions to reduce manual data entry
Revenue Oversight
– Reconcile monthly PAD rent pulls against recurring charges across all tenant ledgers
– Ensure tenant accounts are accurate, current, and flagged appropriately for any exceptions
Full-Cycle Accounts Payable
– Manage AP workflows across development and operating entities
– Ensure all project and operating expenses are coded correctly and consistently
Audit Readiness
– Perform deep monthly reconciliations to ensure the portfolio is always closing-ready for external partners and year-end requirements
– Maintain documentation standards that withstand institutional-grade scrutiny
Who You Are
– You have deep experience in project or portfolio accounting and understand the nuances of real estate financial reporting
– You are an expert in QuickBooks Online and have the technical agility to master property management sub-ledger software rapidly — you pick up new platforms through exploration, not hand-holding
– You see a broken sync or a ledger error and you fix the root cause, not just the number
– You know how to produce elite-quality work in a focused block of time — eight disciplined hours is your standard, not your ceiling
– You are comfortable operating without a manual in a growing company where the systems you help build become the standard
Qualifications
– 5+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping; real estate or project accounting experience is strongly preferred
– CPA designation is an asset, but demonstrated experience and precision are the priority
– Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
– Proven ability to work independently in an autonomous, low-oversight environment
– Familiarity with property management software (Rent Manager or Yardi) is a genuine advantage
Compensation
Day-rate commensurate with experience. High-trust, autonomous environment.
Three Shores is an equal prospect employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who bring the right precision, judgment, and professionalism to the work we do.
