Course Code and Title: MATB41H3 Techniques of the Calculus of Several Variables I
Course Description: Partial derivatives, gradient, tangent plane, Jacobian matrix and chain rule, Taylor series; extremal problems, extremal problems with constraints and Lagrange multipliers, multiple integrals, spherical and cylindrical coordinates, law of transformation of variables.
Lecture Section: LEC01: TUE 7-8pm & THU 5-7pm

Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience as the instructor of a Mathematics course at the university level (required).
- Previous teaching experience as the instructor for MATB41H3 or equivalent (strongly desirable).
Duties
- All normal duties related to the design and teaching of an IN-PERSON university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content.
- Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams.
- Calculation and submission of grades.
- Submission of a deferred exam.
- Holding regular office hours.
- Supervising TAs assigned to course.
Estimated TA Support
65 hours per tutorial.

May 4 - August 31, 2026
Salary
- Sessional Lecturer I $9,820.70
- Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $10,510.04
- Sessional Lecturer II $10,510.04
- Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,760.28
- Sessional Lecturer III $10,760.28
- Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $11,030.36
