About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Policy Advisor to support policy initiatives related to ongoing Plan administration, amendments, and special projects. This role provides policy advice and guidance to support informed decision‑making through due diligence, legislative and regulatory analysis, and stakeholder consultation. The position is integral to the success of the Pension Policy department.
As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You’ll
- Perform in‑depth and extensive research of the Plan’s policies and governing legislation as they relate to current and emerging issues, providing written analysis on impacts to policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Apply knowledge of applicable pension and tax legislation and serve as a technical resource for Plan staff regarding pension administration and plan amendment policy topics.
- Produce legislative updates; monitor and report on government consultations, proposed legislative changes, and related developments; and recommend solutions or alternatives to support ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to provide guidance and solutions for complex cases.
- Guide and facilitate internal knowledge‑management best practices to promote continuous improvement and compliant administration.
- Support the development and review of Plan resources, including communications, forms, tools,
updates to the Plan Text, and other documents as needed.
To Succeed, You Bring
- A minimum of 6‑years of related experience in pension policy, policy development, pension communications or pension plan administration.
- Post‑Secondary education is required. Designations such as CEBS or PPAC are considered strong assets.
- Exceptional judgment and the ability to be thorough and logical when evaluating policy issues.
- A demonstrated history of taking initiative, learning quickly, and collaborating on projects in a tactful manner.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and research skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, experience with technical writing is an asset.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with partners across departments.
The target hiring salary for this position is $93,900.00-$110,400.00. Placement within our salary range will be based on factors such as internal equity, market conditions, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
