We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst with strong mortgage and lending domain experience to support the delivery of complex, enterprise-scale technology initiatives. This role operates at the intersection of business, technology, and operations, translating mortgage business needs into clear, high-quality functional and non-functional requirements that enable scalable, compliant, and efficient lending experiences.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting end-to-end mortgage journeys, thrives in ambiguity, and has a proven track record contributing to large, multi-workstream technology programs within regulated financial services environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse and document end-to-end mortgage and lending processes (application intake, underwriting, decisioning, fulfillment, funding, servicing).
- Translate lending policies, credit rules, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements into actionable requirements.
- Support design and improvement of customer, advisor, and operations-facing mortgage experiences.
- Identify friction points and inefficiencies, recommending technology-enabled improvements.
- Business & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, operations, risk, compliance, and technology.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, design sessions, and solution reviews.
- Act as liaison between business partners, technology teams, and external vendors.
- Requirements & Solution Development
- Elicit, define, and manage functional and non-functional requirements across integrated workflows.




- Decompose business needs into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria for agile delivery.
- Partner with architects and engineers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Maintain traceability from business objectives through delivered functionality.
- Delivery & Execution Support
- Support backlog refinement, prioritization, and sprint planning.
- Partner with QA teams to ensure requirements are testable and validated.
- Assist with defect triage and resolution.
- Ensure requirements support training, operational processes, and change management.
- Governance & Quality
- Ensure documentation meets internal quality standards, audit expectations, and regulatory obligations.
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies with mitigation strategies.
- Provide concise updates to delivery and leadership forums.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 8–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst on complex technology initiatives
- Demonstrated experience supporting mortgage, lending, credit, or related financial services platforms




- Mortgage & Domain Expertise
- Solid understanding of mortgage origination and lending lifecycles (underwriting, funding, fulfillment, servicing)
- Experience in regulated environments involving risk, compliance, and audit stakeholders
- Ability to operationalize lending policies and regulatory requirements into system capabilities

Technical & Analytical Skills

- Solid understanding of systems analysis, application integration, APIs, and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience, security)
- Working knowledge of programming concepts to engage effectively with engineering teams
- Proven ability to analyse complex processes and deliver scalable solutions
- Delivery & Ways of Working
- Experience in agile or hybrid delivery models supporting multi-workstream programs
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive timelines
- Sound judgment in selecting approaches, tools, and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving requirements

Candidate Requirements

- Must-Have Skills: Facilitation, mortgage exposure, ability to work with QA and Dev, technical background, data reporting
- Nice-to-Have Skills: Debugging/coding understanding, SQL and Power BI, strong documentation ability
- Years of Experience: One hire with 8–10 years, second hire with 5–7 years
