Job Title: Legal Assistant (Family Law)

Location: Midtown Toronto, ON

About the Role

A busy and well-established family law practice in Midtown Toronto is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with at least 1+ year of experience in family law. This is a fully in-office role supporting a fast-paced practice focused on divorce, custody, and support matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft, format, and manage family law documents (applications, financial statements, affidavits, briefs)
- Prepare and file materials with the Ontario courts (including via CaseLines and court portals)
- Manage calendars, court deadlines, and scheduling (case conferences, motions, mediations)
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a professional manner
- Maintain and organize both physical and electronic files
- Assist with financial disclosure and document collection
- Support lawyers with trial and motion preparation
- General administrative support as required

Qualifications

- Minimum 1+ year experience as a legal assistant in family law
- Strong understanding of Ontario family law procedures and documentation




- Experience with CosmoLex and DivorceMate is required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with CaseLines and court e-filing systems is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Work Setting

- Full-time, fully in-office role (Monday to Friday)
- Office located in Midtown Toronto
- Collaborative, fast-paced legal environment
