Our client is seeking a Construction Environmental Manager to lead environmental oversight on a large-scale mine construction project in BC. This is a hands-on, site-based role overseeing environmental compliance, monitoring, and field teams during construction.
This is a long term contract position, with an estimated duration of 2 years site work.
Travel and accommodations will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate in office environmental teams, including QEPs and Environmental Monitors
- Ensure construction activities comply with permits, regulations, and environmental management plans
- Conduct site audits, support incident investigations, and oversee environmental monitoring
- Participate in construction planning and coordinate environmental coverage with project timelines
- Oversee environmental reporting and data submission
- Act as the environmental authority on site, including stop-work responsibility when required
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience,
with experience overseeing environmental permitting and monitoring activities for major projects in BC.
- Strong knowledge of BC and federal environmental regulations (e.g., EMA, Mines Act, MDMER, Fisheries Act)
- Mining industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting construction or mining projects in a site-based setting.
- Background implementing environmental management and monitoring plans.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with construction, permitting, and reclamation teams.
