Overview

Position: General Medicine (12‑month contract)
Duration: 12 months, August 2026 to July 2027
Location: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow
This role is not part of the national recruitment process for Specialty Training in Acute Internal Medicine and is not recognised for training by NHS Education for Scotland.

Responsibilities

- Take full part in the medical mid‑tier daytime and on‑call rota (50% rota banding).
- Provide patient care in Acute Internal Medicine for the duration of the contract.
- Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities within the department.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of skills and experience in Acute Internal Medicine.

Qualifications

- Possession of MRCP (UK) or equivalent, and appropriate experience in General Medicine.




- GMC registration and a licence to practice in the UK.
- If not completed a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date, a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST) completed by a consultant within the required period.

Working Arrangements

Adaptable working options are available where service needs allow. Roles that can accommodate less than full‑time hours are also considered.
