Job Overview
Senior Financial Accounting Analyst responsible for ensuring timely and complete month end close procedures, preparing complex accounting entries and reconciliations, generating required financial reports, developing and implementing business process improvements and required internal controls. Must have strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting, solid experience in general accounting, reporting and financial systems. Reports to the Manager of Financial Reporting. Position is remote from Canada.
Manager, Finance - Financial Reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reports, reconciliations and working papers used for financial reporting and analysis, external audits, and year‑end processes
- Fixed asset and intangible asset schedules and reconciliations
- Government assistance schedules and reconciliations
- Currency translation adjustment
- Prepare monthly reporting package for the executive leadership team
- Develop required financial reports in DEPM / App Studio / BI data warehouse
- Assist in the preparation of the statutory quarterly and annual financial statements
- Understand and provide recommendations to improve/correct LN mapping scheme
- Compare anticipated financial outcomes with actual results to identify areas for improvement, develop recommendations and follow through on required implementation deliverables
- Work with business partners to explain difficult financial concepts,
provide data and analysis to assist in decision‑making and problem solving
- Mentor and support junior staff in resolving issues to streamline financial transactions and processes
- Ad‑hoc project work as assigned
Qualifications
- University degree in Business/Accounting, with a Chartered Skilled Accountant (CPA) or in final stages of completion of the designation
- Minimum 5‑7 years of combined experience in accounting, finance and audit
- Experience with various accounting software
- Advanced skill level with MS Office and Excel
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to explain difficult financial concepts and to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail, analytical skills and adherence to financial regulations are critical for success in this role
- Strong work ethic with ability to multi‑task

Salary
$82,000 - $120,000 CAD (role based in Canada; compensation may vary by location, skills, experience, knowledge and role‑specific qualifications). Final compensation will be determined accordingly.
