Duties

- Participates and collaborates with other health care providers in provision of patient care.
- Effectively uses the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the patient.
- Provides health teaching to patients and family.
- Working in a rapid paced environment, assisting cardiologist with invasive cardiac procedures including angiography, right heart catheterizations and measurements, pacemaker insertions.
- Post procedure monitoring including removal of femoral sheaths.
- Working wearing lead apron/vest and thyroid collar (10-15 lbs.) all day.

Qualifications

- Certificate of competency in Ontario.
- ACLS certification, current within last two years with experience.
- Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification).
- ECG Interpretation.

Experience

- 2 years critical care experience and/or cardiac cath lab experience.
- 2 years current hemodynamic monitoring experience.
- Experience with titration of cardiac medications, inotropes and invasive cardiac monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience scrubbing for angiograms and on call experience in a Cath Lab environment.

Skills

- Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of patients.
- Knowledgeable in the utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.
