Governance & Controls Consultant (HR / PCT)

Toronto (Hybrid)

6-month Contract | Financial Services

Insight Global is hiring a Governance & Controls Consultant to join the People, Culture & Talent (PCT) Governance & Controls team at a large financial institution. This role supports enterprise HR governance by strengthening control frameworks, improving risk management practices, and enhancing process and control documentation across PCT/HR functions.

This is a hands‑on role suited for someone who enjoys partnering with the business, challenging where needed, and translating complex HR processes into explicit, well‑designed controls.

What You’ll Do

- Strengthen governance frameworks and control design across HR and PCT processes
- Create, maintain, and enhance control documentation and process maps
- Ensure business processes are clearly tied to effective controls
- Identify, assess, and support remediation of operational, regulatory, and enterprise risks
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, confidently challenging and influencing as needed
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners, including U.S.‑based teams,



in a large enterprise workplace

What You Bring

- 5+ years of experience in governance, risk, and controls, ideally within HR or People, Culture & Talent
- Strong understanding of HR processes, process documentation, and control frameworks
- Hands‑on experience building and maintaining control documentation
- Proven ability to map end‑to‑end business processes to controls
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving skills
- Experience working in large, complex, enterprise organizations

Nice to Have

- Banking or financial services experience
- Background in highly regulated environments
- Exposure to data controls, data governance, or records management
