Job Title: Business Consultant - Senior (Privacy & Security)Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid – Remote with occasional onsite in Edmonton)Duration: 12+ months + 12-month extensionThe Opportunity:We are seeking a senior Privacy & Security Consultant with deep expertise in Alberta’s health information legislation to support strategic priorities for Primary & Preventative Health Services (PPHS) and Hospital & Surgical Health Services (HSHS). This role is critical for identifying privacy risks early, ensuring HIA compliance, and preventing project delays.Key Responsibilities:Lead and support organizational PIA updates and security assessments.Provide privacy oversight for high-profile eHealth initiatives.Liaise with PPHS Data Access and Information Privacy branches.Develop privacy/security materials, threat risk assessments, and pORA cross-references.Draft internal PIA training and deliver instructional sessions.Create privacy & security guidance for Responsible AI initiatives.Must-Have Skills & Experience:Education: University degree + 4 yrs experience; OR 2-yr diploma +6 yrs; OR 1-yr cert + 7 yrs.Impact/Risk Assessments: 10 years conducting, facilitating,



and interpreting across multiple scenarios.Business Writing & Communication: 5 years of experience with documentation.AI Experience: 1 year working with AI (e.G., machine learning, NLP).Nice-to-Have Skills:Alberta HIA Knowledge: 10 years – demonstrated experience with PIA, STRA, BIA.IT Project Compliance: 10 years – coordinating privacy/security risk assessments within IT projects.ATIA & POPA (FOIP): 10 years – experience with information management, privacy, and security issues.Training Materials: 5 years – experience developing training materials.Training Plans: 3 years – experience developing training plans.Change Management: 5 years of experience.Policy Development: 5 years – developing IM or related policies/standards.Data Security Controls: 3 years hands-on with de-identification, anonymization, data audits.Responsible AI: 1 year – experience with fairness, bias detection, explainability, and risk mitigation.Submission Requirements (must include):Resume (clearly describe experience within context of specific job/project; no easy copyingof qualifications).Each job/project must show term: MMM/YYYY to MMM/YYYY.
