Shape young musicians as a Senior Years Choir, Band, and Jazz Band Teacher. Foster creativity through collaboration while modeling playing techniques and leading diverse musical ensembles.
This position requires a degree in Music Education and experience with basic techniques on all band instruments. You will engage with students in both choir and jazz band settings, ensuring familiarity with key repertoire. Collaboration with colleagues both in school and across the division is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
• Model basic playing techniques for band instruments
• Communicate effectively using conducting gestures
• Familiarize students with concert and jazz band repertoire
• Collaborate on educational projects across the division
• Engage with current Manitoba Music Curricula
Requirements:
• Degree in Music Education required
• Courses in jazz pedagogy needed
• Knowledge of K-12 music curricula essential
• Experience in ensemble communication skills
• Willingness to cooperate with fellow educators
