The role is part of North American COO Group that supports pre and post trade deal processing for the RBC Capital Markets Money Markets trading business and its clients. The role ensures that trades are captured and that the confirmation and settlement functions are performed within regulatory guidelines and market best practice principles. The MM Settlements role is a first line of defense to trading businesses, ensures accurate books and records are maintained whilst providing a seamless client experience.
What will you do?
- Responsible for confirmation and settlement of all MM trades
- Ensure all transactions are processed in accordance to the bank rule, Standing orders, circulars, laid-down procedures and local requirements
- Ensure all daily processing and settlement tasks for the team are completed in a timely and accurate manner, following established procedures and standing orders of RBC
- Ensure intra and EOD checks are conducted daily with any outstanding issues identified and actioned or escalated as appropriate
- Provide relief support and other duties as assigned on all functions performed across the teams
- Ensure effective channels of communication with both Front Office and internal Global BCS colleagues as well as other functions
- Ensure escalation of issues / risks to management
- Identify key areas for improvement and development to create operational efficiencies
- Prepare monthly attestation PEGA and ESOD
- Seek to mitigate and minimize risks
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Basic working knowledge in SWIFT, Real Time Payment Systems, International Settlement Rules,
Industry codes and best practices
- Basic understanding of operational risk, impacts and preventative control framework
- Minimum of 1-3 years
- Ability to perform analysis of business processes
- Ability to work on Statutory Holidays and shift hours
Nice-to-have
- Solid PC skills
- Versatile and adaptable to different work related situations
- Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines while demonstrating calm, logical approach to the situation
- Please note the required work schedule and availability: Hours of operation: The role requires flexibility to work within the varying shifts between the hours of 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST.
- Holiday availability: Candidates may be required to work on Canadian statutory holidays or U.S. holidays to support business operations.
