Join the Urban Farm as an Attendant, where you will facilitate animal care and visitor education. Bring animals to life through storytelling and foster a love for sustainable practices.
This engaging role supports the Urban Farm’s operations, focusing on animal welfare and visitor interactions. You will work with Zookeepers in daily husbandry tasks, prepare nutritional diets, and ensure protected, engaging visitor experiences. Delivering presentations on conservation messaging and sustainable agriculture is also a vital aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Help Zookeepers with daily care and enrichment tasks
• Prepare species-specific diets under veterinary guidance
• Monitor visitor engagement in the Contact Yard
• Present educational content about animal behavior and farming
• Keep accurate animal records via digital systems
Requirements:
• Minimum age 16 required
• Completed 10th grade mandatory
• Basic understanding of farm and exotic animals
• Hold valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
• Required Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
Shape community interactions and promote a deep understanding of animal care and environmental conservation.
