We are hiring multiple seasonal Water Treatment Plant Operators to join our crews at client facilities located across the Yukon and Northern British Columbia – fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) for those residing further afield, with travel expenses covered. BQE develops innovative wastewater treatment solutions for international mining clients to meet stringent regulations, extract mineral value, and protect water as a natural resource while encouraging socially responsible operations. The Role

Reporting to Plant Supervisors and Managers, Operator duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Working as part of a team of Operators, looking after all operations of the plant – metals removal circuit, reagent circuit, and utility circuit.
- Analyzing plant performance, completing daily process reviews, analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting, including analytical testing (e.g., pH, ORP, and conductivity).
- General plant clean-up and housekeeping.
- Identifying and communicating maintenance requirements to supervisory staff.
- Responsibly, safely, and efficiently carrying out the duties and inspections as assigned in alignment with industry best practices, company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and site procedures.
- Writing, reviewing, and editing technical documentation – reporting on operations, writing SOPs, and maintenance manuals.




- Communicating and reporting data and information regularly to others on site as well as to BQE Water colleagues at the head office, including visiting process engineers.
- Other duties as required by BQE management.

Schedule

Twelve (12)-hour shifts for two (2) weeks in office, followed by two (2) weeks off-site on leave.

Requirements & Skills

- Valid driver’s licence and a certificate or higher in water treatment; EOCP Level 1 Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification required for some sites.
- At least one year of experience in plants, notably during commissioning, start-up, and process plant operations – particularly in municipal or water treatment operations.
- Ability to work independently, while also collaborating comfortably and efficiently when required on shift and during shift handovers.
- Excellent communication skills – able to convey messages clearly and tactfully.
- Strong mechanical aptitude – accustomed to making things work independently.
- Basic knowledge of process chemistry (i.e., coagulation, solid/liquid separation).
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and proactive in completing tasks safely.
- Resilient, responsible, and able to balance individual accountability with team rapport building.
- Computer skills – familiarity and comfort using Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Compensation Package

Includes, but is not limited to:

- Competitive $40–50 CAD hourly rate
