Our client is an award-winning, venture-backed technology company on a mission to bring transparency and data-driven integrity to the global restorative economy.
As they continue to scale globally, they are looking for a hands-on, high-impact Controller to act as the operational right hand to the CFO — someone who can bring structure, elevate reporting, and build a finance function that keeps pace with growth.
Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Close: Own and streamline the full-cycle close across a growing multi-entity structure; elevate timelines, accuracy, and reporting quality. Provide oversight across AP, AR, and Payroll while ensuring strong review processes across reconciliations, accruals, and complex accounting areas including deferred revenue.
Revenue Recognition & Business Model Complexity: Take ownership of revenue recognition tied to contract-based workflows and evolving customer structures; ensure alignment with accounting standards while supporting the business as it scales into new markets and offerings.
Financial Visibility & Decision Support: Partner cross-functionally to translate financial data into clear insights around gross margin, unit economics, and cost drivers; support leadership with timely, decision-useful reporting.
Audit, Tax & External Stakeholders:
Lead audits end-to-end with minimal oversight; manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners; ensure the company remains audit-ready at all times.
Systems & Scalability: Drive improvements within NetSuite and surrounding systems; enhance reporting capabilities, automate manual processes, and build a scalable finance infrastructure to support growth.
Controls & Process Build-Out: Strengthen internal controls and establish best-in-class processes across a quick-evolving environment; bring a mindset of continuous improvement and operational discipline.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive experience within high-growth SaaS, tech-enabled, or product-driven environments
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition, preferably within contract-based or subscription models
• Experience operating in multi-entity, multi-currency environments with increasing complexity
• Background in public practice (CPA or near completion preferred)
• Hands-on NetSuite experience, with a track record of improving systems and reporting
• Proven ability to operate in a build environment — comfortable with ambiguity and scaling processes from the ground up
• Strong business partnering mindset with the ability to communicate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
