Position Summary

Working closely with senior Finance leaders (VP of Finance, and corporate team), the Senior Manager, Pricing, Analytics and Risk will provide advanced support related to actuarial accounting, financial reporting, portfolio‑level performance assessment, and risk management oversight. This individual will manage the Pricing process, develop pricing rate books and support the month‑end close, perform financial and actuarial analyses, identify emerging risks, and provide insights that influence decision‑making across the organization. This role integrates financial reporting, actuarial accounting, portfolio monitoring, risk evaluation, and project leadership to ensure corporate business objectives, financial results, and risk‑management standards are met.

Position Functions

- Manage and develop the pricing process for all products. Ensure that risk valuations are in line and pricing modelling reflects the opportunities and risks of each offering.
- Contribute to the product development process with responsibility for finalizing pricing proposals and provisioning structures for each offering, ensure alignment with risk analytics and forecasting of profitability.
- Bordereaux validation, verifying first dollar stop loss and excess loss & preparing first dollar invoices along with associated reconciliations,



including the preparation of domestic participation statements.
- Validation of monthly contracts and claims in the contract management system, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data transferred to the accounting system. This is part of the risk evaluation and Balance Sheet provisioning required by product.
- Financial reporting and Actuarial Accounting support, assisting with the close process, reviewing and communicating results.
- Support implementation of models and process improvements to drive ongoing value from department reporting and analysis.
- Assist with external auditors and prepare reports for financial institutions, as required, including overseeing any auditing conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and swift closure of auditing activities.
- Maintain and prepare complex accounting calculations such as deferred contract revenue under US GAAP and IFRS.
- Review and monitor reserves and custody funding, ensuring current positions meet funding requirements.
- Develop, monitor and interpret key operating metrics and trends; effectively communicate key business insights to management and business partners.
- Support model implementation and process improvements to enhance departmental reporting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
- Enhance accuracy of reported financial results and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal standards. This role provides critical analysis for the financial month end processes.
- Provide monthly reporting of income and balance sheet metrics for the senior executive team. Show variations and provide insight and rational for movements.
- Complete project work as required and participate in other work activities as assigned by management.
- Lead / support financial and actuarial risk assessments related to reserves, loss ratios, contract performance, premium sufficiency, and adverse claims development.
- Identify, quantify,



and report emerging risks across actuarial and accounting processes.
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to analyze liquidity risk, and funding adequacy related to program reserves and custody funds.
- Conduct portfolio‑level profitability analysis across contract types, programs, and geography.
- Prepare / create monthly and quarterly portfolio performance dashboards, evaluating trends such as loss ratios and claim emergence patterns.
- Assess program‑level variance drivers, providing insights into revenue quality and cost trends.
- Partner with Actuarial, FP&A;, and Product to evaluate the financial impact of new program launches, pricing changes, and underwriting rule adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications & Competencies

- University degree in Business, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Finance, or related field; professional accounting designation required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with solid knowledge of corporate accounting and financial management.
- Experience with US GAAP / IFRS strongly recommended.
- Expert ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
- Ability to analyze data and present recommendations based on outcomes of analysis.
- Ability to resolve complex issues and problems and present resolutions to higher-level colleagues as needed.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting information to management and internal partners in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, especially in unfamiliar situations or where historical precedent is minimal.
- Expert project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting.
- Preference for candidates with experience in high‑growth organizations, must be comfortable with hands-on, collaborative work.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP accounting systems (Microsoft NAV an asset).
- Strong judgment and ability to act as a “right hand” to senior management, raising risks, issues, or concerns proactively and appropriately.
