About the Role

The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in delivering people‑focused HR services that support a positive and consistent employee experience across the organization. Working within a collaborative HR team, this role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and the implementation of HR programs and initiatives. The HR Generalist partners closely with the Human Resources Director and Payroll & Benefits Specialist to ensure smooth, accurate,



and culturally grounded HR operations that align with Snuneymuxw values and organizational priorities.

What You’ll Do (Highlights)

- Coordinate and support full‑cycle recruitment, including postings, screening, interviews, and hiring processes
- Lead onboarding and orientation to create a welcoming and engaging employee experience
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Support employee relations activities, including performance management, documentation, and issue resolution
- Contribute to HR projects such as policy development, process improvements, and organizational initiatives
- Assist with job descriptions, classifications, HR metrics, and reporting
- Collaborate closely with payroll and benefits to ensure accurate employee data and seamless transitions
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and culturally grounded workplace

What You Bring

- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in a generalist or similar HR role
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment legislation, and best practices
- Proven experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity
- Experience with HR systems (ADP Workforce Now considered an asset)
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively in a community‑centered environment
- CPHR designation or progress toward designation considered an asset
