Overview
Our client is seeking an IT Systems Support Specialist to support both corporate IT infrastructure and specialized airport operational systems . This role ensures the stability and performance of technology platforms used across the airport setting, including passenger processing systems and internal enterprise systems.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support , maintain infrastructure components, troubleshoot operational issues, and assist with the deployment of new technologies supporting airport operations and internal teams.
This position involves a mix of end-user support, infrastructure troubleshooting, and airport technology systems support .
Key Responsibilities
End User & Infrastructure Support
- Install, configure, and support desktops, laptops, and user software in a Windows-based enterprise environment
- Provide technical support to internal staff both remotely and onsite
- Manage user accounts, password resets, and access permissions (Active Directory)
- Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
- Monitor system performance and analyze logs to proactively identify issues
Network & Systems Administration
- Troubleshoot and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure
- Diagnose connectivity issues involving routers, switches, firewalls, and communication servers
- Support enterprise infrastructure including:
- Windows Server environments
- Active Directory
- Exchange (on-prem and cloud)
- Storage and backup systems
- VPN / remote access solutions
Airport Technology Systems
- Install and maintain airport passenger processing technologies , including:
- Boarding pass printers
- Baggage tag printers
- Common-use kiosks
- Support airport operational systems , such as:
- Airport Operations Systems (AOS)
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS)
- Public Address systems
- Telephony systems
- Parking systems
- Security and access control systems
IT Operations
- Assist with deployment and implementation of new technology solutions
- Support system upgrades and infrastructure improvements
- Maintain IT hardware/software inventory and licensing records
- Produce operational reports and maintain documentation
- Respond to help desk incidents and service requests in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3+ years experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support
- Strong understanding of:
- Windows operating systems
- Active Directory administration
- Network troubleshooting
- Hardware and software diagnostics
- Enterprise IT environments
Experience supporting servers, networking equipment, and end-user devices
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice to Have / Assets
- ITIL certification or familiarity with IT service management frameworks
- Experience supporting airport technologies or transportation infrastructure systems
- Exposure to building automation or operational technology systems
- Project coordination or project delivery experience
- Bilingualism (English / French)
