Reports To: IT Applications Manager

Position Summary

The Application Developer (Intermediate) designs, develops, enhances, and supports business applications in alignment with organizational architecture, standards, and security requirements. Working collaboratively within the IT team, this role contributes to reliable, secure, and maintainable application solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications based on defined business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet agreed standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure quality and reliability.
- Provide estimates, status updates, and technical input throughout the development lifecycle.
- Perform application maintenance, defect resolution, and production support as required.
- Adhere to established SDLC processes, coding standards, and security practices.
- Assist Systems Analysts with development work as required
- Develop and support integrations between internal systems and third‑party applications.
- Build and maintain APIs and web services to support data exchange.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and document configurations and dependencies.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending integration approaches or enhancements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and iterative development practices.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft‑based development technologies, including:
- Experience working with relational databases and web services. Familiarity with issue tracking and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Experience with third‑party platforms such as Aptify, Sitefinity, Login Radius and payment systems is an asset.

Qualifications

- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of application development experience in a medium‑sized IT environment.
- Relevant technical certifications are considered assets.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
