Tasks

The Contractor will support and maintain IT networks and systems for managing and delivering geospatial data.

The responsibilities include:

- Operate and maintain data centre systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, storage, backups, and network components
- Install, configure, upgrade, and support operating systems such as Windows Desktop, Windows Server (Active Directory, GPOs), and Unix/Linux
- Install, configure, and maintain data centre hardware, including servers, storage systems, and backup/archival solutions
- Manage Microsoft SCCM and SCOM for software deployment and Windows updates/security patches
- Build, operate, and maintain virtual environments
- Install, configure, and manage antivirus software
- Install, configure, and support Microsoft Exchange servers
- Troubleshoot system issues by reproducing and analyzing end‑user problems
- Perform system backups, data replication, and recovery operations
- Execute failover to Disaster Recovery (DR) sites when required
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements
- Install, configure, and maintain GIS, imaging, database, and data management software (e.g., Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server/Pro, MS Server, SQL Server)
- Install, configure, and administer security devices, routers, and switches
- Design virtual servers, virtual desktops,



and cloud architectures, and produce technical build documentation
- Develop system test plans, perform testing, and document results
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations as needed

Experience:

Total experience: 10+ years of system administrator experience required

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the past ten (10) years installing, configuring and administering:

• Virtualization environments;

• Operating systems;

• Database server software;

• Exchange mail server applications; and

• GIS enterprise applications

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the past ten (10) years setting up and administering Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and creating AD Group Policies (GPO’s).

Must have implemented (1) project in the last ten (10) years that clearly demonstrates the implementation of virtual server solutions in a large government and/or private industry enterprise environment.

Resource has completed one (1) project in the past five (5) years that clearly demonstrates the implementation of an enterprise IT solution in a large government and/or private industry enterprise setting.

Certification:

One or more of the following certifications:

- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE);
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP); and
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
