Our team operates 61 schools – 29 Public and 32 Hutterian, located from the Cypress Hills, to the South Saskatchewan River, through the City of Swift Current, on to Hodgeville, and down to the Grasslands National Park.Competition #3995Some Aspects Of The Positions IncludePlaying a key role in the Senior Leadership TeamThe Superintendent of Student Services and Schools works closely with senior administrators in other departments to coordinate services to students.Coordinate psychometric assessments to support special needs program planningCollaborate to provide professional development opportunities responsive to system prioritiesActing as the Instructional Leader for a cluster of schoolsLeading files related to Early Learning, School Nutrition and School SafetyResponsibility for the day to day operations and supervision of a core group of schools and personnelVisibility and leadership in the assigned cluster of schoolsAssessing existing programs and services then advocating and implementing appropriate changes or enhancements to these programs and servicesUnderstand best practices on effects of actions and duties, as they impact on student learning and the professional activities of staffIdentify specific needs of students in need of supportIdentify, allocate and approve designated budget fundsIdentify school and site improvement prioritiesPromote positive partnerships with agencies and community groups in the pursuit of positive education outcomes for studentsReport as requested to the Board of Education on the work of the Student Services Department.Promote the vision,



mission and goals of the Chinook School Division.Knowledge and awareness of trends and needs in the education of studentsSupervision: Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Education, the Superintendent of Student Services shall supervise and report on the following positions: Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Student Services Counselor, Behaviour Coach and Youth Worker.To Apply You Should HaveQualifications for LEADS membership. A person shall be eligible for membership in the League if he or she possesses the qualifications as follows:8.1 Holds or meets the requirements to hold a Professional ‘A’ Teacher's Certificate issued pursuant to “The Teacher Certification and Classification Regulations, 2002” under The Education Act, 19958.2 Has completed the requirements at a recognized university for: a) A Master of Education degree, or; b) A Master of BusinessAdministration degree or a Master of Public Administration degree, or; c) A Master's degree ina field related to the duties of an educational administrator, as approved by the executive.8.3 Submits evidence to the League of a minimum of two years teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level acceptable to the executive8.4 Demonstrates valuable character satisfactory to the executive8.5 Has been designated by the Educational Relations Board pursuant to s. 266 of The Education Act, 1995 as not being a teacher8.6 Is not employed under s. 200 of The Education Act,



1995 by the same board of education for which the out of scope designation is soughtMinimum of 10 years successful experience in a teaching role.Experience as a Principal is an asset, but a minimum of 5 years as a school based administrator is required.Demonstrated knowledge of Saskatchewan Curriculum and Ministry of Education initiativesKnowledge of best practices in educational leadership, professional learning communities, assessment, effective schools research and application to the work of school-based administrationDemonstrated ability to work as an effective team memberDemonstrated ability to establish a rapport with and act as a role model for administration and staffDemonstrated ability to supervise, plan, and facilitate meetings as well as professional growth opportunitiesSuperior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenValid Driver's licenseInitiative with the ability to work independently and produce results under pressureHigh degree of discretion and personal integrity with the ability to safeguard sensitive and controversial matters in a confidential mannerApplication Procedure Interested applicants are asked to apply through Chinook's employment page at.
