Support youth in crisis as a Psychiatric Nurse focused on forensic care. Deliver critical mental health assessments and interventions while ensuring safety and providing direct patient care.
This role is part of a dedicated team providing mental health services to at-risk youth engaged with the justice system. You will conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, supervise hygiene and nutritional needs, and support individual treatment plans. Ensuring a safe, therapeutic setting is essential as you navigate daily challenges associated with youth in distress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough assessments of youth mental health
• Deliver direct care and support to residents
• Oversee daily activities related to hygiene and nutrition




• Engage in psychiatric treatment and interventions
• Maintain safety for staff, residents, and visitors
Requirements:
• Registered or eligible with BCCNM as a Nurse
• Must have current CPR certification
• One year of experience in related mental health roles preferred
• Crisis Intervention and Physical Restraint training is a plus
• Willingness to work various shifts in a 24/7 environment
