Overview

We are seeking a tech-savvy, natural relationship builder who is keen to make a difference through applying their strong skills and experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist II. This role supports recruitment for critical, hard-to-fill roles across operations, engineering, technology, supply chain, and leadership positions.

This role enhances the recruitment process to ensure a seamless experience for Hiring Managers and Candidates. It offers market intelligence and sourcing support for hard-to-fill roles. Our Talent Acquisition team's strategies are to identify, attract, and retain top talent to support Seaspan’s projects. This role is ideal for an ambitious, adaptable professional who is motivated and passionate about working effectively and eager to develop their skills and advance their career in a fast-growing organization.

Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employees will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

What You’ll Do

- Act as a trusted partner to the business by leading the entire recruitment cycle for the assigned portfolio, covering hourly and salaried roles from intake meetings through to candidate acceptance.
- Conduct thorough screening to confirm that candidates possess the competencies, behaviors, and skills required for success in their role at Seaspan.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a positive experience throughout the process.
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to identify staffing requirements, create recruitment plans, and advise on internal opportunities.
- Review resumes, conduct interviews, and evaluate Candidates’ qualifications and suitability for internal roles.
- Provide talent mapping guidance and align the recruitment approach to develop the most effective strategy for each search, incorporating direct sourcing, networking, and research.
- Engage in proactive sourcing by leveraging social media, direct outreach, community partnerships, employee referrals, and innovative recruitment marketing strategies.
- Keep detailed records and provide thorough written reviews to Hiring Managers for candidates who have been interviewed or screened.
- Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (COE) to generate and process candidate offers.
- Partner with the HR team to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements governing internal mobility and recruitment.




- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
- Prepare spreadsheets, graphs, flowcharts, and statistics as needed.
- Initiate new-hire workflows and facilitate internal promotions, transfers, and conversions.
- Support TA transformation to automate tasks, improve HR processes, and optimize digital tools. Identify ways to improve workflows for efficiency and reduce time-to-hire.
- Led multiple projects focused on attracting candidates, enhancing employer branding, and boosting employee engagement to position Seaspan as a preferred employer for external talent.

What You’ll Bring

- You should have 3 to 5 years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, preferably in-house in large, diverse organizations. Experience in the Shipbuilding, Construction, and/or Manufacturing industry is an asset.
- You have a strong understanding of recruitment processes and best practices, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
- You have experience in strategic sourcing, including social media outreach (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and Facebook groups), leveraging network contacts of Hiring Managers and Employees, and other creative sources.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), with a preference for Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC), including best practices for sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintains a high level of integrity and confidentiality when managing sensitive information.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are definite requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive mindset focused on delivering exceptional service to Hiring Managers and Candidates.
- You possess a solid understanding of how HR functions are interconnected and have proven experience building solid relationships with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, and other teams.

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 - $103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors, including the successful candidate’s skill set and experience, the position's location, and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

This position may involve defense articles and/or technical data regulated by ITAR and the U.S. Arms Export Control Act.
